High School Opportunities
We are searching for a Shop Assistant/Cleanup Crew Member. This role will collaborate with our Build and Electrical teams to maintain cleanliness of shop area. The ideal candidate will possess the desire to develop a career within the automation industry, eagerness to learn, and accept direction from full-time team members.
What You Bring
We're looking for students who are curious, willing to learn, and excited to apply their education in a real-world environment.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Current enrollment in a local high school.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- A willingness to perform shop and cleaning tasks such as sweeping, taking out trash, breaking down cardboard, cleaning breakrooms, etc.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with focus on safety and quality.
- Ability to maintain steady pace while bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and climbing into and beneath machines.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- An interest in manufacturing, engineering, machining, electrical, machine build, or another relevant area.
Essential Duties:
- Complete assigned tasks with minimal direct supervision
- Empty trash cans and recycle bins
- Sweep and mop shop floor
- Wipe windows and glass areas clean
- Assist teams with tidying machine areas and wiping down equipment
- Proactively identify and report any safety hazards
- Work with other team members to complete preventive maintenance and cleaning schedules
- Maintain general cleanliness of the shop
- Assist functional teams with various tasks as assigned, such as arranging tools, special projects, and more
Location & Schedule
Work is performed onsite at Mission Design & Automation in Holland, Michigan. Schedules and hours will vary based on the student's availability, but generally take place Monday-Friday between the hours of 7am-5pm. Saturday work may occasionally be offered.
