Position Summary:
The Weld Engineer's position plays a critical role in the success of our team and our ability to exceed our customers’ expectations. This position is responsible for developing innovative welding solutions and aiding Mission’s growth within the industry. The Weld Engineer collaborates cross-functionally and supports projects from proposal through installation and beyond. Key responsibilities include providing technical welding expertise within sales and applications, serving as an integral member of the functional team, and supporting equipment integration.

The Weld Engineer collaborates cross-functionally and supports projects from proposal through installation and beyond. Key responsibilities include providing technical welding expertise within sales and applications, serving as an integral member of the functional team, and supporting equipment integration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as technical expert during sales visits
- Provide conceptual input and budgetary guidance to support the quoting process in developing winning solutions for customers
- Coordinate machine debug, power up, and validation with project team members
- Ensure equipment design and program meet internal and external specifications
- Collaborate cross-functionally with all departments during various project phases
- Communicate with all departments on project progress and status
- Document and communicate machine changes and issues
- Demonstrate commitment to upholding highest standards of safety, on-time delivery, and quality of products
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering with 5+ years of experience in welding automation is preferred
- Experienced in design and implementation of controls systems
- General knowledge of machine control practices (RIA, ANSI, NFPA 79, UL508)
- Strong leadership skills with ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives with varying priorities
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated technical aptitude with focus on safety and quality
- Work as part of a team or independently with direction from Lead Controls Engineer or Manager
- Demonstrated skill in machine debug
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Effective customer service skills
- Travel minimum 20% may be required domestically and internationally
