Controls Field Service Engineer

To build on this team we are searching for a highly qualified Controls Field Service Engineer. The ideal candidate will be capable of balancing multiple diverse projects, have a high technical aptitude, integrity, and a broad experience in automation. This position includes roughly 70-80% local, non-overnight travel and 10% overnight travel. When not at a customer facility, you will work on-site at Mission in Holland, MI.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, implement, and document HMI, PLC and robot changes for various types of automated equipment
Perform upgrades, troubleshooting and field repairs on wide variety of robot models and peripheral equipment
Provide technical phone support and troubleshooting assistance to customers
Evaluate robot cycle times and make improvements when possible
Robot mechanical repairs (predominately on FANUC robots)
Perform preventive maintenance and evaluate/audit customer equipment
Work with Build and Controls teams while installing new equipment at customer facilities
Work safely and adhere to safety standards
Accurately complete and submit service and expense reports in a timely manner
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5+ years of experience controls programming in the automation industry
Demonstrated skill in HMI, PLC, robots, motion control, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical
Knowledgeable in FANUC iRVision, Roboguide, DCS, CollisionGuard, SpotTool, ArcTool, etc.
Prior experience with Rockwell, Siemens, Omron, and GE systems
Understand diagrams and schematics including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and bill of materials
Work efficiently with little supervision
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to utilize all available resources to troubleshoot and repair (internal company teammates, OEM suppliers, etc.)
